A bio-inspired geometric model for sound reconstruction

Abstract The reconstruction mechanisms built by the human auditory system during sound are still a matter of debate. purpose this study is to propose mathematical model based on functional architecture cortex (A1). inspired geometrical modelling vision, which has undergone great development in last ten years. There are, however, fundamental dissimilarities, due different role played time and group symmetries. algorithm transforms degraded an ‘image’ time–frequency domain via short-time Fourier transform. Such image then lifted Heisenberg reconstructed Wilson–Cowan integro-differential equation. Preliminary numerical experiments provided, showing good properties synthetic sounds concentrated around two frequencies.
